Announcing The Prom Project
The Prom Project is a non-profit organization, a part of First Light UMC- Gardner, KS, which gives away free prom dresses and accessories to high school Juniors and Seniors in the Chicagoland and surrounding areas. The first event/giveaway will be in the Spring of 2012. Please consider donation of items post the 2011 prom. The The Prom Project collects new and almost-new formal and great looking vintage dresses and accessories and provides them, free of charge, to students who are unable to purchase their own prom attire. Students do not need to prove any type of financial hardship in order to get a dress from us.
We distribute the dresses at the The Prom Project "boutiques" each prom season, where each student receives individual assistance from a volunteer "personal shopper" as she shops for the dress of her dreams.
We are a 100% volunteer based organization that relies on Donations of dresses, shoes, jewelry, make-up and purses as well as monetary donations.
We appreciate all that our volunteers, corporations and sponsors do that will make each year successful!
